Tiwa Savage Dishes On Why She Returned To Nigeria On CNN’s African Voices
Tiwa Savage is not only a leading female African artiste but she is also one of the most successful and the multiple award winning singer got featured on CNN ‘African Voices’.
The “Bad,” crooner in her feature dishes on why she decided to return to Nigeria and build her career at home. According to Tiwa, she met with a lot of discouragement when she first moved back to Nigeria because she was female.
Most people didn’t want to invest money or time in her despite female music acts being big in other parts of the world. Tiwa also revealed how her musical career began at 16 years old, when she was singing backing vocals for the late pop star George Michael.
This opportunity have her the chance to collaborate with other notable musicians such as Akon, Kat Deluna and Fantasia. She however made the decision to return to her roots when she met with people on the international scene who seemed interested in her roots.
Since returning home, Tiwa has been able to build a strong and successful career, signed and international deal with Roc Nation and also the ambassador to several notable brands like Pepsi, Pampas to mention but a few.
