Tiwa Savage Dishes On Unfairness Of Nigerian Award Organizers

Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage is undoubtedly one of the most consistent music acts when it comes to churning out hit songs.

With her consistency and talent, one would believe that she will have more accolades to show for her efforts.

The music diva has now joined the ranks of celebs who believe that award organizers in Nigeria are not transparent and there is usually discrimination.

The If I Start To Talk hit maker revealed that most times, females are not put in top categories such as Best Album, Best Artiste or Best Single.

Tiwa said it’s always about the men and she would love a flexible system for females to be opportune to be categorized in the above categories also.

In 2016, there was social media outrage after Tiwa’s music rival, Yemi Alade won in the Best Female Act category for a second time ahead of Tiwa Savage at 2016 MTV Africa Awards.

Many of Tiwa’s fans believed that Tiwa was more deserving of the honour and speculated that the award was compromised.

Some other celebs who have in times past shown their disdain for awards are Olamide, Ibrahim Chatta and Burna Boy to mention a few.
