How Wizkid And Kah-Lo Lost Out On Winning At Grammy Awards

Nigerians were hopeful that at last, a Nigerian music Act was going to bring home the prestigious Grammy award after Wizkid and Kah-Lo got nominated at the 5th edition of the awards ceremony.

Wizkid was able to score his nomination thanks to his contribution to Drake’s 2016 “Views” album which was nominated for Album Of The Year.

Wizkid who was credited as a song writer and producer for the mega hit song, ‘One Dance’, however failed to win as he lost out to Adele who won in the Album of the Year category with her album titled 25

Kah-Lo on the other hand was known for the vocals on ‘Rinse and Repeat’ by British DJ, Riton. Her humorous yet edgy delivery gave the song a charm to turn it into an anthem but she lost out to Chainsmoker’s ‘Don’t let me down’ featuring Daya.

As well as being a huge club hit, ‘Rinse & Repeat’ has been streamed over 26 million times on Spotify and played 6 million times on YouTube less than a month after its release.

We guess there are other editions for a Nigerian to win the coveted gramophone.
