Zlatan Ibrahimovic Poses Next To His Own Honourary Statue
Earlier on Monday, Swedish FA announced that a 2.7 metre monument will be erected outside the Friends Arena in Sweden’s capital city after Manchester United striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
This comes after the football star was named the country’s best footballer for the tenth straight year. Now the first images of the statue have emerged and it sees the man himself checking it out.
That Ibrahimovic has won the Golden Ball 11 times is a record because since its inception in 1946 no other player has won the award more than twice.
Speaking about the honour while accepting the award, he described the feeling as unreal and said that while many usually get this after they die, he still feels alive. He went on to say when he dies, the statue will live on forever.
At the ceremony, Ibrahimovic also received a specially recorded video message from David Beckham to congratulate him on his achievements.
